Is Manchester United heading for another managerial casualty?

When the big boys fall, the questions get louder. Manchester United are in crisis, which is no longer news, but the biggest question is whether Michael Carrick can survive what comes next.
Manchester United have endured a home humiliation that has turned the spotlight firmly on their manager.
MANCHESTER UNITED: CARRICK ON THE BRINK

Manchester United’s problems have gone from bad to worse, and this time Bournemouth came to Old Trafford, took all three points, and left home fans wondering what exactly is happening to their club.
United lost 3–0, with Rayan opening the scoring in the 38th minute, Marcus Tavernier doubling Bournemouth’s lead before half-time and Evanilson adding the third. It was the sort of afternoon that leaves supporters asking whether things can get any worse.
But the scoreline is only part of the story. The biggest talking point was the absence of captain Bruno Fernandes from the starting eleven. Fernandes had criticised the team’s approach following their 4–1 Champions League defeat to Como, arguing that United needed to press more aggressively. Carrick insisted his decision to drop the Portuguese midfielder was based on footballing reasons.
And that is where things get interesting. Was this a manager standing firm and demanding discipline, or a coach taking a massive gamble at precisely the wrong time?
United offered little resistance, the supporters booed at full-time, and the club slipped to 16th in the Premier League with just seven points, only one point above the relegation zone. They have not won a league match since August 30.
The worrying thing is that this is no longer just about tactics or one bad result. There are questions about leadership, player performances, dressing-room relationships and whether the manager can get everyone pulling in the same direction.
Carrick has admitted that he does not know what comes next for him. That statement alone tells you how uncertain the situation has become.

So, is Carrick finished? Not officially. No reports confirm a dismissal, but the pressure is clearly mounting. If United’s hierarchy believes he has lost the dressing room or cannot reverse the decline, a change could become a serious consideration. The problem is that another managerial appointment will not automatically fix the deeper issues at the club.
And the players must also look at themselves. The badge on that shirt comes with expectations. You cannot keep producing performances like this and expect the supporters to remain patient forever.
Manchester United are not just fighting for points now. They are fighting to restore belief in a project that appeared to be making progress only a few months ago.
For Michael Carrick, the next few days could define his immediate future. For Manchester United, the decisions made now could shape the direction of the entire season.
So, Manchester United fans, let me leave you with this question: is Michael Carrick the problem, or is he simply the latest manager caught in a cycle that the club still hasn’t figured out how to break?
Should United give him more time to put things right, or is it time to pull the trigger again?
