Footballers really have a different kind of influence.
Mohamed Salah went on a little trip around Trabzon, Turkey, during his time off.
He explored the beautiful Kurtdere Yaylası, enjoyed the mountains, took some pictures and, at one point, decided to sit on a random rock.
Nothing special, right?
Wrong.
Because Salah posted the picture on social media…
And people basically said:
“WHERE IS THIS ROCK?”
Within days, fans started tracking down the exact spot where the Egyptian superstar had been sitting.
Now people are actually travelling to the location just to sit on the same rock and recreate Salah’s picture.
Videos circulating online show visitors queuing up, taking turns and copying the exact pose made famous by the Liverpool legend-turned-Trabzonspor star.
And because the internet needs to give everything a name, the rock has reportedly been nicknamed “Salahtaşı” combining Salah’s name with the Turkish word for stone or rock.
Basically:
Salah’s Rock.
Before Salah sat there, it was just… a rock.
Nobody was travelling across the region saying:
“Bro, you have to see this legendary stone.”
But one Instagram post later, people are making the trip, taking pictures and recreating the moment.
Salah only joined Trabzonspor in August 2026, but his arrival has already made him a massive figure in the city.
Now his influence is moving beyond the football pitch.
Local businesses around the area have also welcomed the sudden attention, while reports say signs have appeared to help visitors find the location. There has even been talk of incorporating the area into tourism routes.
And honestly, this might be one of the funniest examples of football tourism we’ve seen.
