Who Owns Nigeria’s Playlists in 2026? The Top 7 Most Streamed Artists

Behind every stream is a listener who chose to press play, and behind every chart-topping artist is years of hard work, creativity, late nights in the studio and the courage to keep creating something fresh. In 2026, these are seven artists that are in most Nigerian and many other Afrobeats’ playlists, are streamed the most, and they deserve every play:

1. Asake:

Asake was Nigeria’s most-streamed artist in the first half of 2026 with 681 million streams, about 42.8% more than the 477 million he recorded in the same period of 2025. His album M$NEY drove much of that jump. His lead isn’t a one-year story either: Spotify named him, Wizkid, Seyi Vibez, Burna Boy and Davido as Nigeria’s five most-streamed artists of the past five years. Spotify’s five-year review shows four of the top ten most-streamed songs in Nigeria belong to him, with “Remember” at number one.

2. Wizkid:

Wizkid finished H1 2026 with 455 million streams, down from the 505 million that put him in first place a year earlier. He is still a streaming powerhouse, though. He was Spotify’s most-streamed artist in Nigeria for 2025. His collaboration with Asake, “Jogodo“, was the most-streamed song in Nigeria in the first half of 2026, with 60.7 million streams.

3. Seyi Vibez:

Seyi Vibez recorded 449 million streams in H1 2026, up from 408 millon in H1 2025. The street-hop favourite has been consistent: he placed second on Spotify’s 2025 Nigeria list. In Turntable’s Q1 2026 ranking, he actually came out on top with 547 million streams, narrowly ahead of Asake.

4. FOLA:

FOLA logged 374 million streams in the first half of 2026. His album Catharsis was one of the most-streamed albums in Nigeria in 2025. He also appears on “Very Soon” with BNXN, which sits in the H1 2026 top 20 songs

5. Mavo:

The youngest name in the top five, Mavo reached 319 million streams in H1 2026. “Big Bum Bum“, his track with Kidd Carder, pulled in 27.5 million streams and ranks among the half-year’s biggest songs..

6. Burna Boy:

At home, Burna Boy ranked sixth in the Q1 2026 streaming chart with 223 million streams. Globally, he is having a record year. He hit 46.84 million Spotify monthly listeners, the highest peak ever for an African artist, fuelled by “Dai Dai“, his FIFA World Cup anthem with Shakira.

7. Rema:

Rema took seventh place in the same Q1 2026 ranking with 217 million streams. His year has included singing for the FIFA World Cup and a strong run of singles. He’s also one of Nigeria’s biggest exports, with 29.43 million Spotify monthly listeners
